Performance Introduction


Xue Fangcheng, who has been sentenced to death, beseeches his old friend Ma Maoling to take care of his son Xue Yong and promises not to get him back ever. Maoling abandons the Han Emperor and pledges loyalty to Emperor Shu. 20 years later, Princess Qiaoling falls for Ma Yong (Xue Yong), while Yong and his elder brother Ma Yuen are both in love with the singing lady Guan Qingwei. Emperor Shu and Maoling intervene and end up doing a wrong matching for both pairs. When Yong fights against the Han troops, he knows about his real identity after encountering Fangcheng at the battle field. As he refuses to continue the fight, Princess Qiaoling drives him out of the palace. Yong attempts in vain to kill Maoling, then Fangcheng sacrifices himself to facilitate his own son. After presenting the head of his father, Yong regains trust of Princess Qiaoling and successfully assassinates Emperor Shu. The country is in chaos after Emperor Shu is dead. Everyone reunites on the mountain Huangshan. While Qingwei and Yuen resolve all the misunderstandings, Maoling admits his wrongdoings before. Meanwhile, Princess Qiaoling improves her bad temper and pledges loyalty to the Han Emperor with Yong.
