Performance Introduction

Ever heard of snowing in the summer? There is a myth that whenever there is an unjust verdict on the court during summer, the sky will turn gray and snow will start to fall...

Dou'e, a young and beautiful lady from a poor family, is sold for money to the Cai family as the wife of Changzong. Even though she is bought, Changzong treats her very well and the two of them make such a happy couple.

Not long after the marriage, Changzong has to leave for the imperial exam. Their neighbour, Zhang Luer, who has long been attracted to the charming Dou'e, sees it as a chance. He sabotages the bridge so Changzong would fall when he crosses it so Luer can ends him for good, hoping to replace him as Dou'e husband. But Dou'e refuses and states that she must take care of the mother of her gone husband. So, Zhang Luer poisons the soup in order to kill Dou'e's mother. But it ends up killing his mother. Zhang Luer switches the plan and frames Changzong's mother for it. Dou'e can't find a way to prove her innocent, so she just steps up and takes the blame.

On the day of the execution, a day in the hot summer, the sky turns gray and snowfalls hard...
