After the success of the previous programme “Cantonese Opera - Fairy tales adaptation: “The North Wind and the Sun” & “Three Little pigs”, there will be a new programme for family and kids this year. Written by up-and-coming Cantonese opera artist and playwright Lai Yiu-wai, “The Adventure of Autumn & Winter” is the new attempt to present Cantonese opera in a fun and fairytale-like fashion. With Cantonese opera maestro Mr. Yuen Siu-fai as the artistic director, performers from the Cantonese Young Talent Showcase will bring audiences into the adventurous world of Autumn & Winter. After the performance, there will be interactive sessions for children thus they can interact with the characters dressed in Cantonese opera costume and learn some basic elements of Cantonese Opera. Let’s enjoy the fun of Cantonese opera in Yau Ma Tei Theatre!

    Storyline:

Single dad Lee Cho-ng has a son named Autumn, who is kind and lovely. Later he gets married with Madame Wong and gives birth to daughter Winter. The siblings have close relationship but stepmother Wong hates Autumn very much.

One day, Winter gets hurt when playing with her brother. Wong blames Autumn for the incident and asks him to collect woods on the hill. Winter discovers that her brother has not come home for a long while so she goes to the hill for searching. It is later known that there lives a banshee and some black bears in the forest, whose hobby is eating children! The Banshee has found Autumn and is preparing a big stove to cook him...... let’s find out how Autumn and Winter escape from the danger!
