Performance Introduction

One rainy night, Liu Junxian, the woolen thread vendor, wants to stay at the Inn but it is fully occupied. At last, the inn-keeper Chen Xian accommodates him to a closed, haunted room. That night, the ghost of Liao Xiaoqiao scares him to death, but then she tells him how Zhao Huaian and his nephew cheated her of all her money, and that she resorted to hanging herself when the inn-keeper urged for the room charges.

That very night, Junxian takes Xiaoqiao to file the suit, but he is beaten up and expelled by the magistrate for Xiaoqiao’s ghost fails to possess him in court after the case is being procrastinated to daybreak. The indignant Junxian goes to the Temple of the City God to plead with the Underworld Judge for help. After getting a “pass” for Liao, Junxian takes her to Zhaos’ shop Guang Chang Long to take revenge. However, Xiaoqiao’s ghost fails to go near the Zhaos for they are having the luck of the devil and a talisman to protect the place.

As there is no alternative, Junxian takes Xiaoqiao to the Temple of the City God again to seek help from the Underworld Judge. At last, Xiaoqiao succeeds in entering Guang Chang Long and kills Zhao Huaian and his nephew for revenge.
