Performance Introduction

Chu Batin, a domineering general of the State of Nobleness, returns from a victorious war in the south. Forcing the Emperor to grant him a peerage, Batin requests a marriage with the Princess Qionghua. The Princess has always disliked Batin and refuses to see him. While playing at the countryside with her maid Chunhua, the Princess comes across a bandit. Luckily, the ladies are saved by Zhang Jianqiu, whom the Princess falls in love at the first sight. Jianqiu misses the Princess so much that he sneaks into the palace with his servant Jiafu. The jealous Batin besieges the palace with his troops, prisoning Jianqiu at a secret chamber as a hostage, and forcing the Princess to accept the marriage proposal. After being saved by the heroes from the Mountain, Jianqiu disguises as a maid and sneaks back to the palace. Pleased at the Princess’s loyalty in love, Jianqiu vows to defeats Batin. On the wedding day, when Batin lifts the bride’s veil, the one behind it turns out to be the servant Jiafu. Jianqiu and the heroes from the Mountain fight fiercely against Batin and his troops. As Batin loses in the fight, Jianqiu eventually gets married with his beloved Princess.
