Performance Introduction

Sheh Tong Pass is under siege. As her father Sheh Hung is too proud to seek help from Yeung Kwan, Choi-fa asks her maid Pai Wan to send a letter to Kwan’s son Gai-yip for help. After the crisis, the old men settle all the grudges, and the young ones also admire each other. When both the Yeung and Sheh soldiers go hunting up in the mountain, Gai-yip and Choi-fa fall for each other.

Thus, Kwan proposes marriage for his son to Hung. However, the Dowager has bestowed Choi-fa’s marriage upon Suen Kin’s son Yim. And there arises misunderstanding when Choi-fa visits Gai-yip to find a solution. Hung then resorts to choosing his son-in-law through martial arts contest. During the fight, Choi-fa first defeats Yim and then fakes a loss to Gai-yip to avoid a mismatch. Kin is infuriated and Chui Ying-lung takes the opportunity to incite disharmony among the three General Families.

Being misled to believe that Gai-yip beats up her father and kills her younger brother, Choi-fa chases after him to the Seven-Stars Temple but is caught in his trap. Finally, Kin discloses Ying-lung’s dirty deed after intercepting his letter of treason. Due to the revelation of the truth and the Suns’ willingness to abandon the marriage arrangement, Choi-fa and Gai-yip can get married in the end.
