From Peasant to Princess

The greedy and snobbish Gaa Wanhung replaces his foster daughter, Fungloi, with his biological one, Fungyee to impersonate the Princess to win wealth and power. Fungyee then breaks up with Maanshing in hope to safe him, and accepts the engagement by Luk Sikei.

As the drunk Wanhung confesses at once that Fungloi should be the true royal, they are expelled from the palace. Although Maanshing is conferred a place of minister because of saving the Song Emperor from the wilderness, he has no idea about Fungyee’s loving-kindness by rejecting him. He even ridiculed Fungyee and breaks the relationship with her. She runs away to the wooden bridge in wilderness with her broken-heart, and wishes to take the way out by ending her life.
