Wong On-ching

From the age of four, I began studying the art of Chinese opera. I specialized in Guimendan and Qingyi roles. I was awarded a full scholarship to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) Degree in Chinese Opera at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). I have had the opportunity to perform overseas in locations such as Macau, Beijing, Singapore, the United States, and Canada. In 2023, I received the Outstanding Student Award from HKAPA. Some of my notable performances include "Forty years of cherished love," "Stealing the Poem" from "The Story of the Jade Hairpin," "Giving up His Own Son to Save the Zhao's Orphan" from "The Orphan of the Zhao's," and the original production "Pearl Bay" by HKAPA School of Chinese Opera.
