Kun Chung-fong, daughter of a famous physician, loses her eyesight after upheavals. She and Chun Mang-yu love each other but are separated by war. Chung-fong later marries General Suk-leung who led the army to blow up the bridge. On the wedding day of Suk-leung, Mang-yu is shocked to find Chung-fong becoming his sister-in-law and falls sick. The elder brother Bak-han unknowingly rekindles their love by asking Chung-fong to feel the pulse for Mang-yu. When examining Mang-yu, Chung-fong is shocked by his passion before realizing that he has been her lover when she was blind. Their love is rekindled with the help of Cho Wan.

Having had an affair with Mang-yu, Chung-fong gives birth to a son whom Cho Wan promises to claim hers. Meanwhile, Suk-leung decides to live faraway in seclusion with Chung-fong after he returns crippled from the battlefield; and Bak-han expels Cho Wan for he wants to match Mang-yu with Princess Yuk-lan. Suk-leung refuses to let Chung-fong go back at first when the wedding invitation card arrives. However, after listening to Cho Wan's story and taking his permanent disablement into consideration, he agrees to reunite Chung-fong with Mang-yu.
