    Performance Introduction


    Kneeling by the Pond from The Outburst of a Shrew

     

    The prefecture Chan Gwai-sheung has always been hen-pecked, but one day while he is invited to hang out with his friend So Tung-po, he meets another lady, and gets engaged with her right away. His wife Lau Yuk-ngo is furious and beats Gwai-sheung with a rosewood stick and orders him to kneel and repent by a willowy pond.

     

    Revenge at Guang Chang Long

     

    In a rainy night, Liu Junxian wants to stay at the Inn but it is fully occupied. At last, the inn-keeper Chen Xian accommodates him to a closed, haunted room. That night, the ghost of Liao Xiaoqiao scares him to death, but then she tells him how Zhao Huai’an and his nephew cheated her of all her money, and that she resorted to hanging herself when the inn-keeper urged for the room charges. Junxian takes Xiaoqiao to file the suit, but he is beaten. The indignant Junxian goes to the Temple of the City God to plead with the Underworld Judge for help. After getting a “pass” for Liao, Junxian takes her to Zhaos’ shop Guang Chang Long to take revenge.

     

    The Lion's Pavilion

     

    Since his sister-in-law Pan Jinlian and her adulterer Xi Menqing killed his brother Wu Da, Wu Song killed Pan and put Xi Menqing on trial.
    However, the bureaucrats were corrupted and punished Wu Song instead. The angry Wu Song ran to the Lion's Pavilion and killed Xi Menqing to revenge for his brother.

    Scholar Ho Man-sau sells his drawings for his living with his wife Wong Lan-ying, and is barely enough for their living. Man-sau was being set up to be sent into the army.     Kwai-gi's Complain

     

    Kwai-gi hears of her father's imprisonment, she is determined to rescue her father, with a bit of wit and the help of her husband Chiu Chung, Kwai-gi tries to save her father.
