Performance Introduction

Kuai Nam-ping and Yu Kit-ching are lovers with parental betrothal. However, Kit-ching’s father Yu Yau-choi is not happy with Nam-ping's poor background. He further agrees to marry Kit-ching to Cho Tit-ho.

Yau-choi announces that anyone who presents a betrothal gift which matches the Yu’s wealth can get the bride. Nam-ping comes early for the bride but is expelled. Unwilling to marry Tit-ho, Kit-ching disguises herself as the bridesmaid and has her sister, Yu Kit-bing as the bride. Her plan fails and the parties take the case to the court.

Tit-ho compels Bat Shau-fat to find Nam-ping guilty and forces Kit-ching to be his wife. Luckily, the imperial edict arrives and reprimands Tit-ho and Yau-choi. Nam-ping and Kit-ching finally get married.
