Performance Introduction


Princess Fung-ping (Fengping) of the Western Liang has a female sword, which is pair with the male sword of the Southern Wei.  At the time when the Eastern Qi invades the Southern Wei, the marshal of the Southern Wei is captured by Princess Yuk-fung (Yufeng) of the Eastern Qi. Yuk-fung demands the pair of male-female swords for the release the marshal. Son of the marshal, Sheung Kwun Chi-wah (Shangguan Zhihua) is then forced to ask for the female sword from Princess Fung-ping in the Western Liang to save his father. Fung-ping is touched by the filial son and agrees to give Chi-wah the sword as a gift, and not just as any normal gift, but as a token of engagement. They agree to get married after Chi-wah saves his father.

However, Princess Yuk-fung, who has met and been attracted by the handsome and brave Chi-wah, threatens that if Chi-wah does not get married with her, he and his father will never be allowed to leave. In order to save his father, Chi-wah is forced to agree with the marriage, yet Chi-wah is still loyal to Fung-ping deep in his heart. When Fung-ping leads an army to condemn Yuk-fung’s misdeed,  Chi-wah seizes the chance to escape during the chaos.

In the camp of Western Liang, Chi-wah tells her all the hardship he encountered and confesses his ever-blazing love towards Fung-ping. Then the two join hand to smite the army of Yuk-fung. After the defeat, Princess Yuk-fung realizes her wrong deeds, and Chi-wah and Fung-ping could finally get married.
