<p>Widow Yeung Lau Giu lives with So Yuk Kwai, her sister-in-law, after her husband passed away. Somehow Lau Giu has a secret affair with Chun Saam Fung. In order to make Lau Giu the Mrs. Chun, Saam Fung decapitated his wife, then dress the corpse up as Lau Giu in order to blame Yuk Kwai for it. Since 2012, the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong has become the venue partner of Yau Ma Tei Theatre, with the aim to nurture new talents ranging from performers to backstage practitioners. The Showcase is supported by revered industry titans as Artistic Director and offering hands-on tutoring to over one hundred young talents. By staging more than one hundred performances and outreach programmes each year, the Showcase not only hopes to pass on the legacy to the young artists, but also attract new audience, encouraging them to appreciate the genuine beauty of the traditional Cantonese opera - which is the only art form of Hong Kong enlisted onto UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
