Performance Introduction


Wen Pingsheng has always been loving his childhood partner, Zhao Pinniang, but his mother hates Pinniang and always wishes him to marry his cousin Keqing instead. Sanlang, another man who loves Pinniang, bribes a doctor to falsely claim Pinniang is gravely ill, so she will have to leave the house and he will have a chance. But Pingsheng continues to live with Pinniang which makes his mother furious. When Pinnsheng leaves for the battlefield, his mother takes the chance and expels Pinniang. When Pinhsheng comes back, he hears that his wife has already died...

Due to the pandemic disease, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced that all performance venues will be temporarily closed, the performance of the "Time to Go Home" originally scheduled at 7:30PM on July 29 and 30, 2020 will be cancelled. The details on the programme change will be announced soon.

Special announcement (31/07/2020):

 

As the performances of Phase 1 of Cantonese Opera Young Talent Showcase, originally scheduled to be performed from 15 July to 8 August 2020, were cancelled due to the closure of performance venues, the performances will be re-scheduled at the Yau Ma Tei Theatre.

 

Patrons who keep the original intact tickets can use them for the rescheduled performance on the assigned dates.

 


Special announcement (28/08/2020):

 

Since various LCSD cultural facilities will continue to be temporarily closed and performance venues will not be re-opened before the end of September for live performances. The performances of the “Cantonese Opera Young Talent Showcase 2020/21” in September will be cancelled.*   


We are trying our best to rearrange the schedule of the affected performances above. Updated rescheduled performances and ticketing arrangements of the affected performances will be announced on this website and our facebook fanpage as soon as possible.

- “Happy Marriage Achieved” (7 & 8 September)
- “Time to Go Home” (21 & 22 September)

3) "The Reunion by a White Hare: A Classic Revisited" performances in September (12 & 13 September)
