Performance Introduction

On New Year's Eve, Lee Hon-yi tells the flower girl Shum Gok-heong that she will be rich and famous. Later, when Gok-heong is cheating Princess Gwai Yim-seong, Prince Gwai Sau-ling spots her and offers her the opportunity to learn to sing and dance with Sanniang at the institution. Meanwhile, Hon-yi is not only given some money by Cuihuan to assist his study, but also admired by Yim-seong. Ignorant of the fact that Gok-heong is his benefactor, he insults Gok-heong by showing off his wealth at the institution. Though they have all the misunderstandings cleared afterwards, Sau-ling comes for Gok-heong with betrothal gifts.

Sau-ling compels Gok-heong to marry him. Besides sending Hon-yi to Suzhou under escort, he further instructs his student Tsz Po-tung to harm Hon-yi. However, Servant Ng Chong-yong, who writes the letter for Sau-ling, is barely literate and makes many mistakes. Thus, Po-tung mistakes Gok-heong as Sau-ling's foster daughter; and in order to suck up to Sau-ling, he asks Gok-heong to be his sworn sister and even presides over the wedding for her and Hon-yi.

Shocked at seeing Hon-yi and Gok-heong come back as newlywed, Sau-ling finally realizes the mistakes Chong-yong has made. Quoting Gok-heong's poem, that is however a satirical one, on praising Du Juanhong, Chong-yong persuades Sau-ling to marry her instead. Sau-ling is outraged when he finds out that Juanhong is in fact very ugly!
