Power and Dilemma

After her father’s death, Chiu Hoi Tong lived under the roof of the Ga, along with her step-mother, Chiu Yi Neung, and step-brother, Maan Cheung. She meets a retainer serving the Ga, Kim Wah, and has fallen in love with him. However, Yi Neung forces Hoi Tong to marry Mau Cheong, the son of Prime minister Ga, despite Hoi Tong objects that she already has a lover since Yi Neung plans to use this marriage with the powerful Ga’s to bring bright future for Maan Cheung. Kim Wah, owned a life-saving favor to the Chiu’s, makes up his affection towards Yu Chun and ditches Hoi Tong as Chiu Yi Neung requested as to repay the favor, so Hoi Tong would agrees her marriage with Mau Cheung. 
On the wedding night, Dai Sang and Kim Wah are summoned by the army to fight off the Huns. Maan Cheung, who has been studying martial arts for years, ignores Yi Neung’s objection and insists to follow the troop.
In the battlefield, Kim Wah, Dai Sang and Maan Cheung assist the Marshal Chiu Cheong Mau and defeated the Huns. The captured generals of the Huns ratted out Yi Yan’s betrayal for which Cheong Mau has been suspecting. Cheong Mau then orders Kim Wah and Maan Cheung head to the Ga’s mansion to gather evidences. During Kim Wah and Maan Cheung’s absence, Cheong Mau discloses to Dai Sang that Yi Yan and the Chiu couples were the murderers of Dai Sang’s own parents. Shocked and infuriated, Dai Sang leads his army to condemn Yi Yan and Yi Neung.
Kim Wah plans to flee with his beloved Hoi Tong as he know the Ga’s would soon be pledge guilty. Yet, Hoi Tong refuses to elope with Kim Wah as she is now married. The whole Ga family and Yi Neung are then arrested by Dai Sang and Yi Yan choose to suicide. In the execution field, Maan Cheung believes in his mother’s innocence and challenges Dai Sang until Yi Neung confesses her crime. In the meantime, Cheong Mau arrives to release the Ga family and sentence Yi Neung under the Emperor’s order. Upon the release, Mau Cheong tells Kim Wah that he and Hoi Tong are only couple for show. He then divorces with Hoi Tong and so she can reunite with Kim Wah.
