Performance Introduction

Learning from her brother Siu Wai-ngar’s letter that he becomes rich, Siu Tao-hung quits the singing business with her father Siu A-tsz. Upon their departure, the famous musician Chiu Chu-kei comes to make an arrangement to buy their flute. Wai-ngar, after saving the rich young man Hung Kwai-fun, not only marries his sister Yim-fong but also matchmakes Kwai-fun and Tao-hung.

Yim-fong seeks help from Kwai-fun after Wai-ngar has been imprisoned for his business failure. However, upon his release, Wai-ngar resent Kwai-fun. They then go into dispute and divorce the other’s sister respectively. Tao-hung goes back to sing for a living and meets Chu-kei again. She deliberately hides her past in order to learn from Chu-kei. A year later, Tao-hung finally becomes a famous songstress, and Yim-fong’s accidental re-encounter with Wai-ngar leads Kwai-fun and A-tsz to come beg Tao-hung to go home.
Already exhausted and seriously-ill from teaching Tao-hung, Chu-kei spits blood and dies after knowing Tao-hung’s story at the wedding night. To return the compliment, Tao-hung vows not to reunite with Kwai-fun until she brings Chu-kei’s son Kai-chu up as a successful musician. With no musical talent at all, Kai-chu learns nothing from Tao-hung and even plots with Wai-ngar to cheat her. Tao-hung dies with anger before she can see Kwai-fun and her daughter Siu-hung again.
