Performance Introduction

Answering the plea of the righteous official Seon Yu, the Elder of the Lung clan commands her grandson Ka-lit to take up the ancestral sword and set out to strike down the treacherous minister, Mang Fui. On the eve of departure, Ka-lit bids a sorrowful farewell to his lover, Seung Yu-yuk, and gives her a jade pendant as a token of his devotion. Concerned for her brother’s safety, Ka-lit’s elder sister Ka-jit follows him in disguise to offer protection. By chance, she encounters Yu-yuk and learns that Yu-yuk’s brother, Seung Ling, is himself part of the resistance against Mang Fui. Bound by a shared sense of justice, the three join forces and travel together, determined to uproot treachery. Meanwhile, Mang Fui leads his army into Huainan, where his formidable general Szeto Wai-ying proves invincible on the battlefield.

Seizing an opportunity, Ka-lit approaches the enemy camp under the pretense of selling swords, hoping to assassinate Mang Fui. The attempt fails, and Ka-lit is forced to leap from a cliff. All believe him to have perished in the fall. In truth, Ka-lit survives, grievously injured, and is rescued by Seon Yuk. The Elder of the Lung clan then rallies her allies and lays a carefully planned ambush. When Mang Fui returns from Huainan, the traitor and his followers are captured and destroyed in a single decisive strike. Thus, the loyal martyrs of the House of Lung, and the legend of the Sword, are preserved for generations to come, their righteousness enduring through history.
