Performance Introduction

Siu Wan-pui and King of Chu, Lau Kan are engaged, but to ensure the safety of Emperor Han, the couple accompany Wan-pui's father, Siu Chung-yin, to seek sanctuary at the Sheung clan's fortress. To their surprise, the master of the fortress Sheung Mo-lit has formed an alliance with the barbaric Huns tribe and everyone is imprisoned. Mo-lit loathes the Han Empire, so he forces Wan-pui to marry his son, Sheung Ka-hau, and intends to hand over the other prisoners to the King of Huns. On the wedding night, Wan-pui and Lady Ching-mui persuade Ka-hau to defy his father and finally rescue Emperor Han and the others. Safely returned to court, Lau Kan wishes to reclaim his love and so he banishes Ka-hau to the frontier. Wan-pui, now Ka-hau's wife, declares that she will follow her husband to the frontier. At the execution ground, Mo-lit is awaiting to be beheaded as Ka-hau passes by on his way to the frontier. Lady Ching-mui and Wan-pui also come to see them. Emperor Han cherishes Mo-lit and Ka-hau's talents and pardoned them. The family is happily reunited.
