Began learning Cantonese Opera at a young age. Chan studied under Man Lai-fung and Chan Ming-ying. She obtained her grade 12 in Chinese Dance from Beijing Dance Academy at the age of 18. She holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Hong Kong. She is currently an actress with West Kowloon Xiqu Centre’s Tea House Rising Stars Troupe. She also hosts a show about Xiqu on RTHK Radio 5.
- Please share some interesting anecdotes or unforgettable moments on stage.We were doing a matinee of When Swallow Returns on Po Toi Island when a dog just casually strolled onstage, into the “Palace”. We had to hold back our laughter while performing.
- What has been the greatest reward of joining our Young Talent Showcase?The artistic directors coached attentively and provided clear instructions during both read-throughs and rehearsals. I have gained great insights on how to develop and interpret different roles.
