Performance Introduction

To gather money for his travel,  Sheung Kwun Wan-hok (Shanguan Yunhe) and his family member Tung Shing (Dong Cheng) sell their calligraphy works at Temple of Hanshan. Meanwhile, Princess Tan-fung (Danfeng) who is offering incense tries to pull down the stall. Wan-hok and Shing stop her and the Princess learns about their life stories. Admiring the good-looking and bright Wan-hok, the Princess makes him a gift of a piece of gold, which is rejected by Wan-hok. Tan-fung is pushed away from her servents when the mobs riot at the temple. Luckily she is saved by Wan-hok and Shing. To hide her true identity, Tan-fung makes up a fake name as King-fa (Qionghua) and takes Wan-hok as her brother. Afterwards, the Chief Commander finds Tan-fung. After knowing the Emperor is seriously sick, Tan-fung agrees to leave for home. Fong Ling-chu (Fang Lingzhu) mistakenly drinks the knock-out drops prepared by Cheung Man-fung (Zhang Wenfeng). Misunderstanding in the dark that the other one is their own lover, Ling-chu and Man-fung spend a loving night together. In the imperial palace, Wan-hok misses King-fa (Tan-fung) so much that he refuses to complete the exam paper. Tan-fung loves him even more after finding out his intention. Thus she orders to pick Wan-hok as the first place in the examination and invites him to be the princess' husband. Ling-chu accuses Wan-hok of breaking her heart, while Shing confesses the truth to everyone. Eventually both of the loving couples are happily united.
