Introduced to Cantonese Opera by Tang Mei-ling and enrolled in the Chin Lin Sum Cantonese Opera Institute at a young age. She studied under Man Chin-sui and Leung Siu-sum. Apprenticed for 10 years. Specializes in female roles. She is also vocally coached by Chiu Vai-tak.

  • What is your most coveted role?
    The ethereal and sentimental Lin Daiyu.
  • What is your quest in art?
    Keep honing my skills and trying out different types of female roles. I hope to leave it all on the stage, both my life experience and my knowledge in the art, and to move the audience with my performance. I would like to promote the art form as well.
  • Please share an interesting anecdote or an unforgettable moment.
    I was thirteen when my institute staged its inaugural performance. I was selected to perform Fan Lihua in the formulaic play, Fan Lihua's Punishment of Her Son. Donning the full warrior armor costume, manipulating the pheasant tail feathers atop my hat and performing in Zhongzhou dialect were extremely demanding tasks, both physically and mentally. But I was rewarded with a solid sense of accomplishment afterwards.
