<p>Apprenticed for 10 years. Kwong completed a 4-year training programme at the Cantonese Opera Academy of Hong Kong. Initially, Kwong was mentored by Yang Shouhua and Au Shuk-yee. Later, he studied under numerous artists, including Yu Dong-sing, Yuen Sin-ting, Wong Po-huan, Wong Hon-yam, Wang Jialing, Zhou Lili and Liang Hon-Yong. Currently, Hon performs with a wide variety of Cantonese Opera troupes.</p>

Since 2012, the Chinese Artists Association of Hong Kong has become the venue partner of Yau Ma Tei Theatre, with the aim to nurture new talents ranging from performers to backstage practitioners. The Showcase is supported by revered industry titans as Artistic Director and offering hands-on tutoring to over one hundred young talents. By staging more than one hundred performances and outreach programmes each year, the Showcase not only hopes to pass on the legacy to the young artists, but also attract new audience, encouraging them to appreciate the genuine beauty of the traditional Cantonese opera - which is the only art form of Hong Kong enlisted onto UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
