Graduated from Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, received coaching under Wang Fengmei, Zhang Jingxian, Shun Lau, Zheng Wenying, Luo Pinchao and others.
Apprenticed for 5 years, specializes in female roles.
- How did you come into this line of work?Being an islander, I have been exposed to the bamboo theatre for many years. I was initially attracted to those glamorous wardrobes and then became interested in the entire art form. Afterwards, I studied Chinese Xiqu at the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts and, as a matter of course, joined the industry after graduation.
- Which Cantonese opera veteran are you a fan of, and why?Bak Shuet-sin and Chan Ho-kau. Former’s characterization is beautiful and the latter’s eyes expression and performance are beautiful also.
- What aspect of the art do you think you need to work on?As a new-comer, there are many facets I have to work on; in particular, traditional performing customs and styles.
